thinking of making a 2.2 redtop by geting a 2.2 x22xe bottem end any 1 no about doing this i no thay are 10mm taller than a xe block and you bin the sump

erm, bin the sump? hows that going to work? Do you mean use the 20xe sump?

yes sorry yes take the sump and pic up off the xe and bin the 22 1 off

what not just use the 2.2 lump? i dont see how a redtop head would benifit the bottom end

coz if you fit the full 2.2 lump its ecotek and there only 140 bhp and there heads are shit

Why not go the full hog and get it bored out to 2.3, or more, if possible?

2.2 is lighter as its all alluminium, XE has an iron block.

Depends if you fancy a little nitrous.

LuckyB had either 250 or more from his, and i'm sure after he sold it, the new owner fitted a nitrous kit which took it well over 300.

I think my cousin probably still has a DTM Opel 2.6 V6 with over 400bhp for sale if anyone is interested
It'll be a fair bit cheaper than £10k
