An x16xe, rebuilt head, vxperformance inlet manifold, piper cam set, ported and polished with a head skim, janspeed; manifold, cat-bypass, center section, exhaust?
Also, how much for the same but bike carbs instead of the vxperformance inlet
Thanks

if your getting a vxperformance inlet, 4-2-1, decat ect. i'd have the rev limiter raised to get the most gains, only to about 7250 though

Hummm I wanna hit 150 but don't want an xe cause thats been done a thousand times before and don't fancy throttle bodies cause they're expensive to buy, then you need management then i don't understand how they get cold air

Whats the difference between TBs and bike carbs? (difference in gains, do you need new management for both? etc)
Im a bit of an amateur to this you see

Carbs will need ignition management and TB's will need full management.

if you want 150 bhp, do what Vauxhall did, and use an 20XE.
It would cost a significant amount of money to get you x16 to that figure, and even then, you wouldnt have as much torque as an XE.
Gez, did you have your limiter raised? If so, who carried it out/what management did you use??

It will cost about the same, though, after coilovers, bigger breaks, strengthening etc, wouldn't like one like sumi's just thrown in!

do you wonder why there are so many red top converted corsa's?it's easier and cheaper to do than tune a 1.6.

iv'e never been a fan of redtop conversions. the money ive spent on my 1.6 i could have a good red top, 150bhp 1.6 would be better than a standard red top power to weight.

Not necessarily:
quote:
Engine
Gearbox
Loom
ECU
Power steering bracket
Drive shafts (see below for more info)
Front engine mount
Modified gear linkage
16v Header tank
1.6 16v Fuel Pump & fuel clips
XE exhaust
Cavalier inner CV's
ARB Spacers (only needed if keeping ARB)
1.0 12v top hose for the right hand side of the rad (thermostat housing)
Rear gear box mount spacer
Transducer for gearbox ( to fit on mechanical speedo drive for electronic speedo)
Rear coolant gallery (standard xe from Calibra or Cavalier is fine)
Fuel pipes that attach to the fuel rail
Alternator
Alt bracket
Alt adjuster
PAS pump
2 v belts
Twin v bottom pulley
Ecotec adapter plate and pipe or powercap (unless you want to cut bulkhead and use sfi box
2.0 Cavalier disks, calipers and pads
coilovers
All this will add up to what I imagine would be around the same...
