Hi guys im going to pick your brains on this one.
Just purchased a gsi on a l reg 93, the gear linkage is apprently worn the rubber bit,
The car can go into reverse without lifting the bit on the knob and wont go into 5th, and when looking for 1st goes into reverse.
I have another gearbox and linkage with the car going to re con the new box, but needing to know whether its just the linkage thats buggered is this a common fault ? and not actully the box buggered.
