take the head off, clean it up, skim, refit a new head gasket

been standing for a while before i bought it..could that have caused it?
but yeh once i get some money sorted..alot of diy i reckon

could just be a bit of condensation causing the oil to emulsify at the top end. normally happens if it been used for short journeys and not got to temperature. if the dipstick is clean and its running o.k, then i doubt its the headgasket. change the oil and filter and take it for a good run.

its just on the cap..running fine but yeah think i'll do that mate cheers.if no improvement al get it skimmed and new gasket i reckon.

i have the same problem and i just skimmed my head and put in a new gasket along with oil and it still has it?..how do i clean out my engine?? i was told half a gallon of diesel for 5mins then new oil?

bit of slight, thin, not so yellow (more transparent), mayo on the filler is most likely condensation but thick gunk is a head gasket job.
