same and my head gasket went so it had to be replaced...basically make sure you have coolant because you could ruin the engine.

no coolant as said above wil let your car get silly hot.. it can warp the head, melt gaskets, and in some savere cases ether crack bore liners or warp the block... good tip just plonk 2l or water into it if you have to drive a very short distance if not don't drive it at all till its fixed

Basically, the engine runs so hot that the oil can't keep lubricating parts. So the pistons could seize and/ or the headgasket fucks up.

Meh, ive ridden my bike about 5 times before checking the coolant today to find its about as dry as the sahara, did wonder why the fan on the radiator kept coming on . Ive got some generic antifreeze that I will mix with water, that do? Think its CarPlan, something like that.....

It will be fine a few times although you should never do it but you'll ruin your head gasket which could ruin the head.
I also thought that the radiator works on coolant so it won't work without coolant?

No, but as long as you're still moving along there's still air circulating around (and cooling) the engine.
