hi guys, the car sometime has trouble starting and when it does sometimes seems to miss fire, fitted new coil pack and now it sparks, but the fuel pump doesnt make a wine?

is this a sign and hence why car wont start the pumps knackerd?
1993- ecotec 1.6 sport engine.
