got a c20xe corsa, basically the engine managment light is on so ive done the paperclip test and its giving me code 94 which is apparently Hall sensor - voltage too high according to this http://www.topbuzz.co.uk/info/fault_codes/fault_codes.htm#bosch what i am wondering is what on earth is a hall sensor and why is the voltage too high?

If you have a dizzy fitted then you should have a three pin plug / 3 wire, an earth ,live , signal one of these is probably open cicuit check these connections are good, that will be you hall sensor.

right, cheers for that, just had it running there and disconnected the sensor whilst it was running and it still ran the same so i reckon thats whats up, now how do i change it

You need to fit a new magnetic plate in the dizzy you might be able to get one from vauxhall if they do that part on its own, other than that if all connections are ok about 5v then you will need a new dizzy, a trip to the breakers is on the cards I think, thats what I would do, now days its all coil packs solid state etc, try another dizzy and I think you will be sorted .
