h4 does low and hi beam

Don't bother fitting them as main beam either. HIDs need a few seconds to 'power up' so they don't work if you want to flash your headlights.
Factory fitted HIDs have a flap that moves and changes the beam pattern to effectively flash the lights when the dipped lights are on and when they are off they use a halogen bulb.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

H4 bi xenons have sliding guard that overcomes the problem.

and the h1 HID's i have in the astra work perfect on high beam
