does anyone else get really nervous when speaking to people on the phone?
if i ever need to phone a company then i get really sweaty and my throat closes up and find it hard to talk properly.
doesn't happen when talking to friends/family, just when talking to some strange in a call centre.
i've been meaning to phone up credit expert to cancel my membership of 7 quid a month and have been putting it off for ages due to being really nervous about ringing them. i just done it there, and only took 30 seconds and was really easy.
just wondered whether i was weird or this is actually a common thing

I'm exactly the same.
I have to psych myself up for it even though it's always fine.

No I don't. I tend to make rude jokes or rely with funny comments to lighten the mood in the conversation, then they usually end up more helpful and willing to help

I get like this for some reason, even though I know as soon as I start speaking to them I'll be perfectly fine.
Im not like that when going into a company though and having to speak to them face to face, then I dont have any problems.
Strange.

I'm the same. I can stroll into a bank or wherever no problem. But ringing them up is a different story

Your problems start when you open your mouth and are all apples and pears.

I do with out going calls sometimes, it's worse if it is work related and not 100% sure on what it is for, I write all the facts down etc. I don't mind answering them though.
Mine stems from feeling like you might be inconveniencing someone or sounding like an idiot.

Yeah, I think mine is down to them maybe asking something that Im not too sure on (even if its something stupid that wouldnt even matter). Same thing can happen face to face but wont bother me.

It's that easy then? I need to cancel mine before they start charging me.
And yeah, I don't like phoning companies. I felt really bad being rude to a call centre guy the other day as well. He was only doing his job tbf

I used to hate calling companies from work where I had to ask some sort of technical question and worried they would ask me something back and I wouldn't know the answer so sound like a mong.
Not so bad anymore that I know my stuff.
Hate answering the phone to moaning tenants though, waiting for them to have a right go at you when they're the one at fault.

yeah, phone them up on the free 0800 number, then press 4 when it says ''if are you thinking off leaving us press 4'' then you get put through to an operator who asks for your details and cancels it.

I'm shit on the phone, much prefer my emails.
I don't put my work number in the signature underneath my emails so people don't phone me
