When I used to get the train to work (10 miles each way) it used to cost me nearly £1 per mile on a rolling monthly season ticket.
Fucking joke, I bought and ran my first car for a year for less than that per mile

I currently pay £73 per month on my train pass in London.
Moving back north to the promised land means my monthly train pass will now only cost me £44.

I used to pay 145 a month and it always went up. they never gave you discounts or anything. yet the trains were always running late or jammed packed because carridges were bust. bunch of tight fisted arseholes if you ask me
