That fella who blew up the Pan Am plane.
The thing that gets me is he is being released on compassionate grounds so he can spend his last days with his family, yet he didn't show an ounce of compassion to the victims on the plane, or their family who didn't get a chance to say goodbye.

right i know who you mean now. i think it shows very little respct to the people affected by his actions to even think about releasing him. he gave up his basic human rights when he decided to do what he did. cunt should be left to suffer in his cell.

Extremely complex this one. There's a catalogue of doubts cast over the intitial trial that have been highlighted in appeals which would lead you to believe he was innocent in the first place and stuck in jail to appease those that wanted a scape goat.
The owner of the company that makes the timer that blew the plane up claims the FBI offered him money to say that he sold it to Libya. The chief prosecution witness is supposedly sitting with $2 million dollars in his bank account for doing so and there's various professors that have visited Megrahi and are adament he is 100% innocent.
If he's being let out purely on 'compassionate grounds' then no he shouldn't be released. If he's being let out because they realise they've jailed an innocent, and now dieing, man then they should.

^^ agree with hammer. Its a complex case, have a read of the evidence, it is very sketchy at best.

/\ as above. Even the families of some of the victims doubt he's guilty.

It wasn't him that done it to start with and secondly this has all been set up.
Amazing the amount of people who get denied release then 6 months later have terminal cancer.
