the weather makes loads of difference to your cars performance. i know its better for an engine to have cold air but my car feels so sluggish when the weather is warm. All the other cars i've had perform near enough the same no matter if the weather is hot or cold. just wondered if anyone else notices the difference. by the way its a 1.6 sport and has the standard airbox

If i drive about for an hour changing at 3000rpm and then have a race it seems alot more responsive and quicker than when ive been ragging it about over an hour or so. I also have a sealed induction kit and ram air intake at the front so engine tempt doesnt really affect it.

No. Its all down to the laws of physics.

Cold air is more dense than warm air therefore on a cold night your car sucks more in.

Its just down to ambient air temperature and theres nothing you can do about it unless you have powers to control the climate!

All these enclosed air filters on the market are a load of shit, 'heat soak' or whatever it is they market them to combat against is none existent once the car is moving so you get no more gains from them than you would from a normal cone filter.

If you want a bit more throttle response remove the bottom bit of the airbox to open it up fully.

get an uprated ones, makes a huge difference.

a lot of people on focus st owners club get a remap (the ones you do yourself using the OBD port in the car) and don't get an aftermarket intercooler and never achieve the figures quoted by the tuning company because of this.

Forge make one for the T-jet actually, tempted by it,
I supplied Chris at Forge with the pipes from a tjet so they could do their silicone versions, must ask him how hes getting on actually

Anyway as a thanks he did me a nice discount on the subframe bars, must ask about the intercooler..

Only trouble is i cant decide whether to get the bigger turbo first, exhaust, fmic or coilovers ive been looking at
