I need a new one as I've killed my old Antler one after 5 years; I'd prefer something pull along but can't find anything I like. Don't really use it for longer than a week at a time but I wan't it distinctive so its easier to spot at the baggage carousel

I'd prefer it to be branded in someway; as in not a "last 5 minutes" matalan one.

Recommendations?

I'm weary of cheap ones though as I had the nightmare scenario of one bursting open and my clothes/contents come in bit by bit through into baggage

the last one i bought was a samsonite hard case. i bought it whilst i was on holiday in florida so it was cheaper than over here. it's lime green so is easy to spot at baggage claim.

I have a samsonite hard case one too and can't fault it.

Mine is Silver so pretty easy to spot.

You want a light one too due to the baggage allowance constraints.

All of my suitcases are samsonite hard cases, all very light but also very strong, brilliant cases!

Yup, got a blue samsonite hard case, think it's called an American Tourister, have seen the loaders chuck it about and it has survived the last 8/9years or so - looks like this but is blue
