i got a 1.6 sport corsa with power steering atm and just bought a redtop engine but doesnt have powersteerin pump, just want to kno wot i need to have the engine in with power steerin? can i just use my 1.6 powersteerin pump, wot will i need? or is it easier just to scrap the power steerin but will i then have to change the steerin rack?

iv just done tht conversion had to buy a power steering bracket from lmf vauxhall which comes with a sorter belt and u will require the old style power steering pump that runs off a ribbed belt lmf explain all when u buy bracket

about £90 pound for bracket then you can pick pumps up on ebay for about £50

can get an 8v one from a scrappy for cheap also.

got a pump here that you could have say 50 quid just done the same conversion on my corsa and bought 2 pumps so got a spare

so i need a pump that runs off a ribbed belt? i got a bracket and then where do i get the belt?

If you've got hydrulic PAS then the bracket you need is £45 from chris astly, don't know where people are getting £90 from:

You need a C20xe pump, watch out which one you get though because one type has a straight inlet and another has a 90 degree bend.

And £50 for a pump is about 3 times too much unless it's brand new. In which case it's a bargain.

rite so will i need the straight inlet or the 90 degree bend its just normal PS on a 16xe sport

well on mine that was a 1.4 sport before the conversion i needed to use the 90 degree bend, but ended up just putting a bit of flexi pipe in since a got a straight one by mistake.

Ive got an electric powersteering pump from a saxo if you want for £50, no messing about with belts etc.

attaches to std corsa pipes aswell if you put a couple of washers into the pump. works well aswell. mount on battery tray job is a good one.

Aye, I paid £17 delivered for an XE one off here not long ago. Are the 8v's the same pumps then?
