I know there's a few on here who work in this industry up in Aberdeen, anyone going to the Offshore Europe Exhibition this week?

I can only imagine it'll be packed out pretty much everywhere. We're staying near Aberdeen Airport, is it miles away from the decent places to eat/drink etc? Not been up there before so I've no idea where anything is!

No but im heading up on Wed night to go offshore & probably getting put up in a hotel in Peterhead because of the fucking oil exhibition

You'll be staying in Dyce? Around a fiver in a taxi to city centre. Not much in Dyce except airport, hotels & oil company offices.

Do you know which hotel you'll be in?

Pretty sure it's just a Holiday Inn, but we've got some other little B&B's booked for other nights.

Dyce sounds about right, show is at Bridge of Don?

I usually stay at the Holiday inn at Westhill, its not bad, quite new - modern inside. If its in dyce then im not so sure, I think theres a holiday inn around the corner from Bond Helicopters so it might be that one.

As for the show im not sure where it is, I was there about 2yrs ago but didnt take much notice of how we got there!!

It'll be the Holiday Inn accross the road from the BP offices. Its Pish

There are a couple of pubs in Dyce.... nothing worth more than a swift while your waiting for someone or something.

Clubs in the centre used to be open later for the week, but not sure these days

Traffic is a complete turd around Dyce / BoD in the morings/eve

I'll be there a few days if I get time during work - it's across the road from my office so it's handy

We haven't got a stand though

You'll manage a bus into town for a night out, don't worry

i've been working at the AECC the last 2 weeks getting it ready, it's huge, traffic is a nightmare when it's on and everything is a rip off. hotels are charging double etc.
my mates mum is renting her house out for the week in Ellon for £3k

Fee joked the other day... sayng she was going to rent out the spare room for a £1000000 a week.

hehe

Friend started up a leasing company for it last year.... the prices paid make the Edinburgh Festival seem tame.

We rented out place in Edinburgh for about 1000 a week during that.
