Looks so nice but I cant justify paying £200.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SF-BMW-M3-Ultimate-GTR-1-10-RC-Nitro-Gas-Car-RTR-FAST_W0QQitemZ400032280782QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN?hash=item5d23c830ce&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Im thinking about getting an electric one soon, Im looking for a Tamiya Nissan Silvia drift spec one think I should be able to get one for under £150

Does anyone know how swapping the shells works? Like if you buy the chassis of an rc car then find a shell you like how easy is it to fit? Is it certain shells only fit certain models etc?

Nice one James reason I ask is that there are a few decent kits such as this one

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Tamiya-1-10-RC-HP-TB-03D-DRIFT-SPEC-CHASSIS-KIT-58420_W0QQitemZ230374800756QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN?hash=item35a3687d74&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Which would just need a shell and ovcourse the radio equipment

That way I can pick my own shell or even buy a few and swap and change....

If you buy a tamiya car stick to tamiya shells as they are designed with fitting their chassis in mind. Tamiya are also some of the most detailed shells about too.

They arent easy to paint and make fit though, the cutting, drilling, measuring and then the painting takes some time and skill to get right, otherwise they just look shit. your better off paying somone whos handy with an airbrush to pain tthem for you if you want them to look good.

190mm usually applies to electric touring cars, and 200mm are the nitro touring cars.

PS tamiya kits are overpriced for the performance they deliver and they use old technology. Look for hpi and yokomo touring cars as they are better performers and better value for money.

agreed!! 100x true. Tamiya stuff is very very very poor for what you pay. Bodyshell-wise they are superb though, fab better than anything else.

thats why i came up with this: a yokomo touring car chassis with a tamiya body on it:

i've got an old (ish) xray t2 that i never use. Happy to let it go cheap if you want to collect it from bedford/milton keynes area. Say £75 Including body shell, transmitter etc.

Serious question, what kind of surface would you drive the BM on? Looks like it would ground on a piece of glass.

Seems quite cheap that considering you get the controller with it and its 2 speed. wonder how long it will last. Engines usually cost £50+ too.
