I've got a set of 18" alloys I'm wanting to repaint, how much paint do you reckon I'll need?
Would 1 x 400ml primer, 2 x 400ml cans of paint & 2 x 400ml of lacquer be enough?

Id go for a 2 or 3 cans of primer just to be safe, because you might need to do some flatting back etc
3 cans of the paint and 3 cans of lacquer should do you 
It all really comes down to what quality of finish you want, if your taking your time its worth doing properly

well to give you an idea last week i did mine (4x 16'' alloys )
i used 4x 400 mm cans o primer
3x 900 mm spray (black)
followed by
4x 150 mm cans (ford graphite grey)
and to finish
4x 400mm cans of lacquer
the results are here
first couple coats of black paint
and finished article
