My local halfords tested mine ages ago. for free aswell, just tell them you bought it there.

No sound coming through the speakers on my old car so asked if they could check to see if it was working. The pluged it into their speakers in the store and it was working. Turned out the bodyshop had put a screw through an earth wire on one of the speakers.
