Depends who key you are using, we use a sky extra room card which is legit so it will last until matey cancels his subscription however there are websites that do card sharing online by subscription and they give you access to their key server.

Can dreamboxes be used with Sky at all?
EDIT:
I am after free Sky channels tbh, is there a way of getting them without paying?

I've got one, we have a card sharing subscription which we get everything through the net. i.e. Dreambox is connected to router.
works very well, get all the channels for £10 a month. only problem is our internet connection, if say im downloading on the laptop the tv freeze's alot. were upgrading to a 20mb connection soon thoguh

I don't fancy downloading all the TV shows over the net constantly. Might just pay for sky

Do you understand the concept? The Dreambox has to be connected to a Sky Dish and the Internet, it uses the Internet to download the keys for channels that it receives on the Sky Dish. Every time you look at a different channel it has to download keys x amount of times a minute because Sky change the encryption keys on their channels x times a minute.

Sky channels and the rest, if you get a motorised dish which is quite easy to setup, you can pick up channels for half of the world. And if you have a HD dreambox you can watch and RECORD all the hd content too

yup I get all the movies, all the sports about 30 odd porn channels i think all in ive got just under 2000 channels. If we put up a 2nd dish I can increase that to about 10000 channels but there all forign so not really worth it unless your into that kind thing.

I need to know more about this whole scenario.
Where can I read a good guide about it? Is it as simple as plugging it in and away you go?

Willay and aj, are you saying you can get sky as in sports movies etc, via a dish, not via sky themselves for a tenner a month? Or am I massively misreading?

What would be the best box to go for?
I wouldn't mind HD but I don't need any recording etc.
What is the best subscription service to go with?

Sounds intresting, but how illegal is this? Or what are the chances of getting caught?

no idea whats the best sub, we use someone elses card.
Its probably illegal, very illegal but its abit hard to work if a user is sharing details because the only way for sky to work out is if they limited the amount of queries you could make to a subscription card.
Anyone can put up a dish and receive a encrypted signal from sky.
