Last night my Mrs said to me, after explaining to her that i want to get my windows tinted, that i m approaching 25. Should i really be doing things like that!
I maintain that over the years my tastes have 'matured' slightly, i m into improving upon standard.
For example my car:

Every car i have brought i have thought what can be done to improve it. I think i will always be like that though.
Is 25 too old to be driving around in a modified car?

Improving upon standard isn't really a bad thing hence the "improving", but say if someone was 25 and putting a silly bodykit on then it would the comment would stand lol.

Yeah I think modifying is generally a loose term to people who aren't actually interested
I can't imagine ever being able to keep a car standard personally

Most of the show winning cars are owned by 'older' people as they can afford the insurance!

Never, and I can't see whats 'wrong' with improving the standard either. For something you spend a fortune buying and running, its got to be something you are happy with in every way even if that means changing something.

know what you mean but your never too old.
Window tinting is hardly a "mod" though, if however you were doing a massive widearch kit and big chrome wheels... well thats a different thing all together
I think every car i own will be changed from standard in some way. be it wheels, tints, exhausts, I.C.E.. whatever really

The older you get, the more subtle the mods tend to be in general. And are therefore imo improvements / enhancements.
There's a lot of older people out there with money who will spend money on their cars to improve them - usually on power and very subtle but stupidly expensive tweaks.
It's just unfortunate that the cruise reputation tarnishes it all lol.

Good example of that is Revere London... http://www.reverelondon.com/flash.htm

My stepdad is 55, hes just got rid of an audi A4 that he put a 2.7 twin turbo V6 that he spent around 30 k on modifying over the space of 6 years. Now hes got an Impreza RB320. Thats already been remapped up to 350bhp and has a full custom stainless exhaust on it, hes waiting for the warranty to run out before he does anything else to it.

it's normal mate. i don't think i'll ever be able to keep a car standard, even if it's just small improvements.
i'll always lower a car if it looks like a monster truck, as it's just not a good look
you're still young anyway.

I'd definately say that you are old enough to know the difference between 'bought' and 'brought' though . . . .

When I was 17 I wanted a bodykit, big exhaust and tints, P.I.M.P.
it lasted all of 2minutes before I realise what a prized twat I was about to become and just did the subtle stuff with a decent engine, 2 versions of the VT LET'S laters and I was just about done with cars in general, had a business, gf had her own car, I became a Dad and needed a work vehicle and a vehicle for family use etc... so gave it all up and I now own a Mitsubishi Warrior pickup, my gf owns a little Merc hairdresser type thing and my family car sits on my driveway ready for nursery pickups and trips to tesco.
I am 26 now and recently purchased a Scooby P1, not to modify but just to do something I have always wanted to do, I've had an Impreza before but really wanted a ltd edition, either a 22b or a P1.
