Very strange world we live in, when someones beleifs are as extreme as that. I seen some pictures the other day of something similar, only the village folk ate the person.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that, much more sensible than sticking somebody underground in a wooden box.

The funny thing is, its probably a more natural way to do things than what we're used to.
Dress them up nicely, put them in a nice expensive wooden box and bury them 6ft under, or feed the dead to nature.

It wouldnt bother me if thats what happened to my body after I died, in fact I think Id prefer that than being put in a wooden box and eventually eaten by worms.

I actually don't care what happens to me, as I will be dead .

yeah i agree. if im dead ive no use for my body anymore, rather that way than having money wasted on a fancy box to be dug 6ft under and left there lol

That's a fairly sensible approach.

This is called the sky burial in Tibet. Since it is believe that a person re-incarnates after dying the body serves no real purpose. There is no need to preserve the body, as it is now an empty vessel. Birds may eat it, or nature may let it decompose. The body is cut in specific places, and left on a mountain top, exposing it to the elements. According to Buddhist teaching, this makes it easier for the soul of the deceased to move on from the uncertain plane between life and death onto the next life. So as barbaric as this might look, there is an actual purpose to this.

I went to see one of these sky burials last month when I was in Litang in Sichuan province of China. It was pretty gruesome but no where near as bad as I had anticipated it to be. There were others there taking photos (which I found quite disrespectful) but then again we were the "tourists” who had gone to see it in the first place.
Those with a higher stature are buried higher up the hillside. One lad had committed suicide and was buried at the bottom of the hill as he had died unnaturally. It was definitely one of those experiences I’ll never forget…..the vultures were huge!
