Did a 12 hour off road endurance bike ride last night. And oh my god I feel fucked now

Anyone else done something simular?

did 75 miles which doesnt see that far but it was on the Bedgebury single track red route. Which involves lots of climbs and tecnical sections full of rocks that vibrate your teeth out on decents.

Came 12 out of 37 which I am happy with as the field had some sponsored riders in and raised £220 for charity

Really cant be dealing with work tomorow though

Well done, 75 miles is far enough on a road let alone offroad. Hats off to you.

How does he find them.

Main problem I found was pace. I usually go for a ride 3 hours long max so I had to cut back on my usual pace. But it kept slipping back up which wasnt good

Hell that sounds tough! Well done!

I had to pull out of doing the Grizedale Challenge that was on yesterday, been having problems with my back

I've done a 45 mile cross country event for charity a few years ago. Started at Shap then rode off road across various passes in the Lakes towards the West Coast. Absolute killer! Will never ever do that again

I'd like to know what lights too. Never done any night riding, would like to but the lights seem pretty expensive! Around £250-£300 for a good one

I am running a set of ay-ups

And they really are this bright

Only thing is I did the ride with them mounted on my helmet as I found on the teccy bits you need the lights where your intending to go not where the bike is currently facing. But you get mounts to do both and it only takes 5 mins to swap over

plus points

cheaper then other sets circa £150
light weight and compact
6 hours from the battery
extra batterys are £30 which is what I got so I had 12 hours of usage

Only downer is you have to import them from australia

Well worth it though was looking at the exposure lights before but these work out alot cheaper and are easily just as good

I've done the Sleepless in the Saddle before, in a team of 4. That was tiring enough. Christ knows how you feel.

I'm all for the freeriding at Chicksands in the morning now, followed by a hearty Thai meal to finish. My XC days are long behind me.

I only have a short travel hardtail so do xc and single track free ride is a bit much for me. Will I be ok there?
