You'll need the right sized spark plug socket for them. If you're just using an ordinary socket then it's not going to work.

you have taken the spark plug leads off havnt you
put a little bit back bone in to it they should come out as long as you have the deep reach spark remover socket...
you must have the wrong socket for the job

If you go to Halfords, find a set of plugs for your car and then go choose the right wrench or socket by testing what they have there. Fairly sure it's something like 16mm as already said.

Na davie, ecotec but a 1.4 sport (gf's) I went halfords and already bought plugs, went home tried my sockets no joy, went back to halfords with one plug, and trial fitted in one of there spark plug remover things, and it fitted it, but spark plug remover is to wide to fit into the engine.

Ah, is it a socket, or one of the tools with a blue T shaped handle. I have the latter and didn't have any problems on my 2.0 red top. I'm not sure what is slimmer though, the socket or the remover tool.

Right my tools were correct, found out today doof gave me wrong plugs so, my usual sockets were to small, which is why i had to use bigger ones which did not fit in, all changed now.
Still same prob with car
