been having a problem for a couple months of an eggy smell coming from the car on start up and the first 10 minutes or so of driving.

it's been in for warranty once and ford said the fuel i was using (tesco 99) had a high sulphur content and i should use a lower RON petrol.

i've been using tesco 95 (normal unleaded) for about a month now and it still smells eggy, like a really bad fart.

would filling the tank up with a few tanks of bp ultimate help flush the shite out or is it a case of the cat needing to be replaced?

car is completely standard engine/exhaust wise.

My mates orange ST used to do this, would randomly smell for 10mins then go away for hours then come back again

He never found out what it was. might not be the cat as he had 3" turbo back exhaust with no cat and still done it.

ah, least i know i'm not alone then

it smelt a bit funky at the SE rr day last year with tesco 99 petrol in so it maybe just the petrol not fully flushed out yet.

just don't want to take it in for warranty again and getting a piece of shit ford fusion to drive about in.

mine made 252.9bhp and 288 lb/ft torque on the torque of the devil dyno with tesco 99 in. it's good stuff, but the car smokes a lot on it

i know it's all a lottery with yno's but everyone elses cars made exact or just below the correct power.

I've never had an egg smell, so it can't really be the fuel.
Sulphur in fuel these days is at an all time low.
