Is it just me or is the job centre online website about as much use as spam windscreen wipers? 
They never have any jobs and when it says "100 exact matches" what it really means is "we've found a couple of matches then after about page 4 we are going to give you matches from jobs you didnt search for at the other end of the country". 
Where is the best place to look for jobs?
Im currently going round places in person with my CV just to be a bit different rather than phoning up even if no position has been advertised but i could do with finding jobs that are actually available.
Ive tried posting my CV up on websites like monster and a couple of others but they are no use either.
Basically im stuck in a sales job that i hate, staring at the same walls everyday and im bored of it. I want to be either outside or doing something practical whether it be Mechanic to Landscaper to Forestry and Land Manager.
Anyone got any ideas of where to start?

There are a few mechanic apprenticeship on the JobCentre website. The best places are normally agencies.

All the best employers dont advertise on the jobcentre website. For the simple reason that the scummers who usually get jobs through there are a waste of space and wont make good employees.
Best way of doing it is printing off lots of cv's and covering letters and going to any places around you that you might like to work for and giving them to the person in charge of recruitment.

tbh honest i've never tried spam windscreen wipers

Theres nothing around here for mechanics except dealership work where they only want you if you have previous dealership experience.

Ye i did think that DizzyRebel thats why ive been going to places in person but you can only turn up so many times until they get annoyed with you
spam windscreen wipers was about the only thing i could think of other than chocolate teapot

TBH motor trade is a load of cock unless you are working on something specialist like porsche, merc, bmw or ferrari so i shouldnt bother with it too much.
Much better off being a plumber or a sparky as you will never be out of work.
thats the idea, keep going to annoy them and show your keen. i did it when i wanted a job as a bike mechanic, took me a month of mithering and making them drinks but it got me a job and was worth it in the end!

Ye i know what you mean but as im already a qualified mechanic i thought it would be a bit of a waste of time to just throw it away. I was looking into sparky but at the moment the wages im on dont come close to covering the costs of the course and i cant afford to quit my job to do the course. So really the only thing left is apprenticeship but like i said first choice was mechanic.
I think i'll go do some annoying tomorrow and just hang around and pester them until i get a job

So if you're already a qualified mechanic, why do you need an apprenticeship? Unless you mean a sparky apprenticeship - in which case its something you should do.
Hang around, offer to help out etc for no money and if they see you are that keen then they will probably give you a job.

Job Centre site is terrible, half the results i get are for London which is too much of a commute for me tbh

Ye sorry i meant sparky apprenticeship. Im going to have to look into it.
Its just im at the point where i either decide whether to keep on looking for a mechanic job or just realise thats not going to happen and try something else. Just a shame to throw away 2 years of work and to give up on something im passionate about.
Muzzy thats exactly what i mean! Im north west and unless i want to travel to London or down that way theres nothing!
