Now one of the worst programmes on the box imo - I actually want to kill myself evertime I see Hammonds face.

Why would it be just such a crime for them to actual do a proper review, on a realistic car for most people. I like the odd challange and the odd supercar pornshot.....but I dont want to see them acting out a sketch as if its real every week.......most of the programme has nothing to do with motoring.

The celebrity interview bit is embarrasing watching clarkson crawl up their ass, the news segment only features silly stories that we have already seen three months earlier on the net, dont even get me started on the cool wall and all that crap.

Its basically not a motoring show anymore.....its a comedy, light entertainment show made for anyone to watch...rather than motoring enthusiasts.

I loved the first couple of series where they did some amazing challanges, great car reviews using a combination of track and road, and the banter between them was amusing.......now I just reckon their egos have gone mad and the programme has completely lost its way...wont even bother watching this series....guff

Its what sells though. If every week they were test driving standard family cars, with the odd dream car then they'd be likened to fifth gear.

The comedy, mucking about and general piss taking whilst still doing the odd review is great. I can sit down with the gf and she is as entertained as I but for different reasons.

If your expecting sensible and informative reviews, buy autocar magazine, dont watch top gear.

McDonalds sells...doesnt make it good food.

I dont expect them to do boring tests on mpvs and family cars.....but I would expect them to concentrate much more on sports cars, hot hatch's ect costing between £14-£30k. This is the choice most of us will make.

I would rather see a road test on a normal, affordable car than a challange where they are arsing about on tractors or something.

I just think it is well over the top now..... The joke has worn thin for me and I just dont enjoy the programme much now.

I would just like them to take the car review side of things more seriously...they could still have all the other stuff that makes it enjoyable for people who are not into cars to watch without compromising the quality of the show for motoring enthusiasts.

Its not what its supposed to be about, or what it started off about....it is what its become.

Why does the only motoring show on Tv have to be watered down into a light comedy show for idiots to watch. There are plenty of whimisical light entertainment shows out there...why did top gear have to be turned into one too.

Im not saying it has to completely change its style.....it should just be better than it is....wouldnt cause people to turn off in their droves if for example they scrapped the celebrity interview and added a proper road test in its place.

That doesnt mean they have to compromise on the motoring aspect of the show.....they just need to do a better job than they are now. You dont have to have a joke every 5 seconds for something to be enjoyable for all ages do you?

But since they are doing really well with the shows they are currently producing, they won't see the need to change to keep a few people happy. It's all about money.

Top Gear has been a victim of its own success

Started off with a relatively small audience world wide and was a great show.

Then it got massively popular so all sorts of people were now watching it...mums, wifes, friends that have no interest in cars. People all over the world watch it.

Then they had to change the programme to keep all those new people happy and keep their attention...which basically involved forgetting the people who have watched it for 20 years plus, and hamming up the light entertainment side of the show, getting celebrities on to plug their latest book, film and having a joke or explosion every 2 minutes to hold the attention of all the mongs that have switched over from celebrity x factor get me out of here while dancing on ice. The cool wall was definately a low point.

And you end up with a programme that has lost most of the things that were originally good about it.

I give it 2 more series at most in its current format.

Aslong as they make money from how it is, it will carry on this way.
