Just got this email that I thought might interest those of you that play euromillions

quote:

As of 7th November, EuroMillions will cost £2 per line of numbers and include the Millionaire Raffle game, where every week, from the first draw on the 13th November, one lucky UK player will win £1 million – guaranteed.

Every time you purchase a line of EuroMillions numbers, you’ll be issued with a unique Millionaire Raffle selection – which will be displayed on your ticket. This Millionaire Raffle selection will then automatically be entered into the weekly Millionaire Raffle draw.

In the weeks leading up to the start of the Millionaire Raffle and the EuroMillions price change on 7th November, the number of weeks you can play EuroMillions ahead will reduce each week; so from 17th October you will only be able to play for up to three weeks in advance, then two weeks from 24th October and one week from 31st October.

From 7th November you will be able to purchase EuroMillions tickets for up to four weeks at a time again.

£2?

Everyone will wait until it reaches the big amounts now before they bother playing.

It guarantees a millionaire in the UK every week though, that's why it's the 50p extra

We're not all millionaires already though, personally i'd quit like £1,000,000 and you still get the entry into the usual euromillions draw as well, which is £54m-ish this week.

50p extra for much better odds of £1m than the big win

I take it this is to make up the shortfall which will come from the currency exchange fluctuation with the Euro with the rest being put in the pot for the £1 million.

How?

It will be the same odds if every person who enters gets a free entry into the 1m raffle?

Trying to win the £1m will be the same as trying to win the jackpot...

Because winning the big lot goes for the whole of europe, hence Euro millions, the guaranteed £1,000,000 is for a UK winner, therefore, is restricted to UK purchasers, of which there will be less as the UK isn't the whole of europe.

Was trying to find out how many UK people buy weekly, but couldn't find anything

Fruit booter it wont

the jackpot on euro millions is something like 74,000,000 - 1

the 50p thing gives you a uniqe code depnding how many ticket sell your odds increase/decrease.

so if they sold 10,000,000 euromillion tickets in the UK you'd have a 10,000,000-1 chance, and if they only sold 200 euromillions tickets you'd have 200-1 chance
