I know the name is a bit of a giveaway, but i'm not experienced in this matter.
Should this just be dealt with by one's employer and paid at the same intervals your wages/salary would be, or do you need to claim for it from the DSS?
I'm asking as i've been off work for over a month now and have supplied my employer with three doctor's certificates to date and haven't received penny one so far.
The latest I would normally have been paid for the month is yesterday.

Yeah you should of been paid as normal, but it will not be your normal wage, the current rate is £79.15 a week although you wont get it for the first 4 days of your sickness.

Thanks ever so much chaps. That's slightly more than I anticipated. I thought it'd be about 48 quid a week.
The scumbag I work for is the most useless, unreliable, lying, thieving, late paying, short paying toss rag under the sun, so I can envisage getting my SSP in any fashion approaching on time and in order about as straight forward as getting the pope and the queen round for a Friday night spit roast and some scat fun.
