Right I have 15"Kahn RSR'S on and I want to lower me car a bit. As the car is already lowered a bit as standard not sure how much. I want it lowered a bit more but how much is safe to do, if I go with 40mm springs is that going to be too little as its already lowered a little thus not gaining much for the money paid and help appreciated or ideas on what to do cheers Paul....

It's lowered about 10-15mm as standard. 40mm is the most you'd want with standard shocks.
Also you might have a clearance problem as 15" Kahn's aren't the greatest offset.

I know especially the rear wheels, so you would advise to stick with 40mm or something a bit less such as 30-35mm

To be honest I'd advise new wheels then a 35-40mm drop. This equates to a 25-30mm drop on a GSi.
With those rims I'd bet on them catching with any drop.

the thing was when I first got the car last year I just wanted a set of nice wheels quickly and when I got them the garage who put them on said they were the correct offset and everything but if i knew what I knew now then I would not have bought them but thats what modding is all about I suppose its about making mistakes thats what is good about this website with so many people giving advice I was not a member a year ago.

Yeah I wasn't having a dig, just advising you that any drop on those rims will probably give you grief.
I think it's amazing the number of garages and wheel companies giving completely wrong advise regarding wheel fitments.

probably cos they just want the money in the till and fuck the customer that pays there wages at the end of the week. I might have to go for some wheels on finance cos I just dont have the money at the moment and I would prefer to buy other stuff with me money dont suppose you know any online wheel companies that do finance do you ?
