ive got an Wireless Network Adapter and it finds my router,but its asking for a wep key. any idea were i can get this from because the one i have saved wont work with it

log onto ur router cpanel, will find everything you need there.

If you didn't set one; there might be one on the box or printed on the bottom/back of the router
Or you could go the router config way

Go to run, type command prompt.
When that comes up; type in "ipconfig".
Then look for IPv4 address :192.xxx.x.x
Type the number into your browser.
And the it should take you to your router page;

That's how I do it anyway.

ipconfig will give you the ip address of your machine not your router. However your router will be very similer. e.g. 192.168.1.10 or .1 etc

start-> run -> cmd -> ipconfig


see the bit with default gateway. well whatever yours comes up with type that into internet explorer address bar. Have you got a username and password for your router? whats your router make and model?

more than likely on the back of your router, or a card that came with the router...

unless it has been manually changed...

so have you managed get a screen similar to what i posted up?
if you have the default gateway that should be your routers ip address. put that into the internet explorer address bar.
When you are in your router is there a bit down the right hand side that says wireless?

try as admin: admin
for password assword

once in check left hand side. under wireless there should be a security option.

hopefully the wep key should be in there

There should be something else there stating your WEP.
What code did you enter to get onto your network?
use that one
