i no most of the basic stuff bout redtops, but what faults can i look out for when drivin and lookin under bonnet?

make sure its stone cold when you get there if its warm then walk away as its most probably a right rattler when cold.

blue smoke when giving it the beans as 99/100 have been thrashed within an inch of its life.

oil leak from cam cover around dizy (cam covers can warp on these)

missfire when cold quite common

what richard said, start it from cold, let it warm up to the fan kicking in. Check all the usual, coolant etc.

alot of xe's have slight taps etc, thats not too much to worry about. Any knocking walk away! Any smoke walk away
