Was leaving for work this morning and two came to the door and wanted to preach about a better life or some shit.
I wasn't in a good mood anyway as found out work hasn't payed us this month, so was in the mood for an arguement.
They starting giving all the God is around us shit and if you want a better life then you need to embrace him blah blah. Im an atheist and don't believe in God, religion is the cause of war anyway.
I said I wasn't interested and didn't believe in it, and she asked why? Explained the evolution theory to her which she wasn't having. Then out of the blue she mentioned that hedgehogs are growing longer legs to run across the roads, as the shortlegs are getting run over, which in my mind is evolution...... which I pointed out, her face turned red and quickly changed the subject.
Then she asked why is there life on earth then? Simple explanation I gave her was that there are billions of planets out there and ours just happens to be the correct distance away from a star to support life, which seemed pretty logical to me. Then she went off on one saying so how was the universe made and that surely a higher being made it so....
I got angry at this point and shut the door.
I don't mind if they believe in god, but i wish they would fuck right off on trying to preach it to people who don't!

I answered the door to some last week and immediatly close it again without even saying anything.

Every year they hold a 2 day event for Jehovas at St. Johnstones Football ground in Perth, they pack it out, it's so fucking annoying when it's on as traffic is a nightmare, thousands of them walking round.

Funny how it's only them and the mormons that knock on people's doors - you don't tend to see other religious persuasions recruiting door-to-door.

I'd love to see someone actually invite jehova's in, sit them down with a cup of coffee and persude them into their way of thinking. Seth would be perfect for it i think, walk in christian and out believing the Law of the heffer.

My dad was one growing up as his parents were Jehovas Witnesses, my auntie & uncle still follow Jehova.
My dad gave it all up when he reached an age were he was intelligent enough to ask questions which none of the preachers could answer.
I went to my cousins wedding, I won't ever be going to a Jehovas Witness wedding EVER again.
Lovely people though.

The missu's uncle invited a couple in, Let them put on their video and after the video finished they went to leave. Just as they where standing up to leave he told them to hold on, and because he had sat and watched one of their videos, It would only be right that they sat and watched one of his. So he put on a porno he had lying around and sat and watched it with them.
He is a bit strange with the things he does, But i bet it was funny to watch their faces though

Your answer... Jesus was not born on christmas day. Why celebrate a Birth Date if the person was not born on that date.

Do you know what Jehovah's witness are and what they do?
Im not a Witness and i never knew anything about them and what they do until i met my partner.
we all pass judgement, and i am happy to say that i WAS one of those people.
My partner's family are all witnesses and they are very understanding people.
For instance, They do not get Baptised unless the child wants to get baptised (The parents do not make the decision for the child) Unlike Christians or other religions.
I have the benefit of speaking to my girlfriend's family and they are all very nice people.
I dont believe that Blood Transfusions are bad and i would most deffinately have one for life saving treatment if needed, although there are other things that can be done. I am also Training to be an Engineer in the RAF and i would never change my mind, and an Understanding witness would not try to change a persons mnd either.
A few things to list that a Witness Does or Does NOT do are as follows.
No Sex before marriage
No Smoking
No Drugs
No Excessive Drinking (Alchoholic)
Cannot Work In The Military
No Blood Transfusions
2-3 Meetings a week
etc... There is more and i cant list all of them as i still learn more everyday.

I am not trying to preach to anyone or have a row about anything.
I am however, trying to give all of you that have never asked a Jehovah's Witness - [ "What goes into being a Witness and What rules do you have to follow"" ] some information that you may not know.
I know that i have not made a good impression for Jehovah's witness But although you dont believe in Jehovah (I Dont Either)... Just have the balls to ask them the Question.

You will have a GOOD conversation and have a better understanding.
I havn't covered all area's of the thread but i can say that there are some very good looking Jehovah's Witnesses out there.

Now they come to the door regularly (spelling) and we have a chat, the chat can range from football to Cars, and they are really friendly people.
The reason they come back to peoples doors is because there are Thousands of them in the region and they all walk around at differant times.
Secondly, I agree, They should not knock the door. end of.
