ok so we knoew coilovers are vunerable to corosion from things such as salt etc so im wondering if anyone took any extra precautions in protecting their suspension from such things other then just copper greasing up the threads?

iv just bought some, theyre BC racing so black and gold and wouldnt mind keeping them immaculate - can i get brush on clear laquer and give the bottom parts a couple of coats with that? didnt really want to underseal them or anything.

Coper grease the threads and if you really want to be anal put a coat of a durable wax such as Collenite on the body of the coilover unit.

i cant believe people are advising others to put copper grease on threads, its something that should always be done especially in this weather

I cannot believe people have to tell others to copper grease threads, its something everyone should do especially in the winter when bolts will corrode more

How about using motorcycle chain lubricant? It's the stickiest grease/oil I've ever come across which only comes off if you use something like brake cleaner on it.
