Ive scanned back a few pages and cant see this mentioned. So

Seen this on Mig. I dont know if it is official due to it coming via Auto Express but it must be pretty real for MIG to post it.

http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/vauxhall-mig-news/417387-new-astra-vxr-due-2010-a.html

To be honest im a little disspaointed. i dont really like it. and with it being a 1.8 turbo it seems to have lost a bit of appeal. I remember when the pics of the current Astra VXR were released i couldnt stop looking at it as it looked like a complete road weapon and different to what was already out there. This looks a bit too plain i feel. Though i do like how the doors swoop. Apart from that, it may take time

Hmmm not too sure on that, the interior/center console looks extremely bland.

i dont think that will be the interior the one that is in the pic. it does look bland. ive got a book for the new astra and the exclsiv's interior looks top so i expect it to be high class. i think that interior pic is from a concept or test model due to all the wires

That is not the VXR, that picture has been floating around for over a year.

Does it have the same rear end as the new Astra J? No it doesn't.

And for the tenth time it's not going to be a 1.8 16v Turbo, it's going to have the 2.0 16v Turbo that is currently in the Insignia SRi.

If Mike Warner went on VXRonline and done a search he would find all the info he required and not relied on Auto Express article that is just bollocks.

That photoshop is horrendous, it's a Corsa VXR that's been extended.

It looks nothing like an Astra J, the rear end is a Corsa VXR, the wheels are Corsa VXR.

ITS NOT GOING TO BE A 1.8 16v TURBO FOR THE LOVE OF GOD

It's already been confirmed that the 2.0 16v Turbo from the Insignia SRi will be in the Astra J VXR.

Fuck me.

AutoExpress publishing any old bollocks they can make up with a convincing Photoshop of a different model in the range resized a bit and called something else.

Quite why anyone reads that crap I've no idea.
