Had myself an afternoon out at Bedford yesterday on the full gt curcuit

Was a good day out barring the weather. In a way though the rain wasnt too bad as I think I learnt alot about driving in the rain. even if it did mean a slower pace with alot of understeer.

Quite like the track from a beginers point of veiw as there is alot of run off, variety of corners and been 3.8 miles long it spaces everyone out nicely

Only downers is its completly flat so not quite as exciting as brands etc. And been big it takes a while to learn I still wasnt getting the lines right by the end of the day.

Was a bit worried at the start as I seemed to be the only one in a smaller car

Pulled into the carpark R35 x3, elsies exiges and a caterham. Closest thing was an 09 focus RS and thats saying something

Car did well though I feel and was keeping pace with the elises on the straights

Highlighted somethings I need to get improved though:

> seats as my side hurts from trying to stop myself falling out of them all day
> EBC greenstuff pads are a bit poop but I knew that anyway when I bought the car
> when hot the gearbox crunches in third so I have an issue there

Couple of pics and a dodgy video from the dryest part of the day

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ohESeLHVBk

reckon if could cock a wheel in the dry with more grip

Took the car to get some new tyres put on earlier and realise just how filthy it was. Needs a good scrub when it eventually stops raining

Looks like you had a really good day.

I can't wait for my full day on Monday, and going by the list of cars that will be there I will be the only small hatch there too.

Still it makes for good fun trying to chase down all the bigger stuff.

Will be up for going again in fairer weather. Would make a good venue for a few of us to get together at imo.

Box sounds like poor oil more than a fault. It would crunch when cold if it was a fault, the fact its only doing it hot would say to me you need better oil in it.

Rain or shine R35 gtr's are complete wepons. So much grip and once on the straight they are gone

Said it time and time again it would be a perfect venue for a Weekend Racer event, they have an AM/PM event again in January that I might attend.

If a few people were going on track at an event I might be tempted, January might still be shitty weather though

After been there in person I agree

Completly self serficient venue with plenty of space and a yummy restarunt

Then once out on the curcuit there is a nice amount of space to put your stuff in with facilities and pit garages. You can also see a load of the curcuit from there so its nice and social.
Get enough together and we could take a good chunk of it over.

quite near you as well isnt it ollie?

Same, going to get a set of R888s for the spare wheels and use them for track days to prevent the road tyres getting mashed.
