Im going to be running carbs soon and want a feed for them, obviously a box with a filter in a cool area of the bay would improve things but otherwise what air scoops are there out there that are decent ish and wont make me look like a chav , also are these worth it or will they not make much difference over the box filter idea. any ideas / experiences

Cheers.

Could quite possibly have been. I took about 3 separate orders up to that road one night. Your car was parked pretty much outside the house I delivered to (up a small flight of steps then the house on the left?)

Passenger side?

yeah i kind of liked the idea of the ctr one but it would be quite difficult to accommodate as the bulkhead would have to be 'shaped', i know DaveB has a scooby vent on his which doesnt look too bad, ed seems to think otherwise, surely it would aid cool air flow to the carbs

tbh, if it's actually being used to feed carbs with more air rather than just look good you shouldn't mind if it looks chavvy. Function over form FTW.

hmm i see what your saying, Fad this is DaveB's car (hope he doesnt mind) hes running Jenvey ITB's iirc and he has fitted a scooby scoop which imo doesnt look to bad, yet if eds suggesting its not effective i will look into this, perhaps ed has some cfd analysis

Manifold covering the trumpets of the carbs leading to an airbox utilising the existing or modified air feed

so like a fiberglass tub over the carbs? I was planning on running a scoop to a pipercross filter over the carbs tbh, although its been suggested to use some form of box as that way the intake temp will remain fairly constant
