Why does everyone buy shit loads of food at x-mas?

Went to ASDA on my dinner today and the place was manic. Folk piling stuff into thier trolly like it was the last food they'd ever be able to buy. These folk must have some big arse freezers to keep all this shit in cos they aint going to eat it all.

My mum does it as well, always goes with the excuse that the supermarket will sell out. Yes it will, because you've bought boxes of fucking Frosties you twat.

Homemade soup, a turkey, gravy, potatoes, pigs in blankets, trifles, chocolates and booze. That's all any house shall ever need at Christmas.

we dont get extra food in, the supermarkets arnt shut for long, a day or 2 so if you do a weekly shop afew days before you should be ok, i dont see the point in people stocking up on food because it will just go off and then get thrown out, and we go to my nans for xmas dinner

First xmas all moved out.

Just discovered all the expense of getting enough beer, soft drinks and nibbles to feed the visitors.
