No its not worth it in monetary terms, compared to other cars on the market.

£3k!!!! erm NO.
I am a massive fan of nova's i have bought and built a canny few from base spec 1200cc up to 2.1 16v on carbs etc since i was 16 (now 27) a nova was my first car and i have never lost the bug for a nova but the prices people put on them is stupid no nova is worth over £4500 at the absolout max.
So a base spec mint one like that cant be worth £3k they aint classic cars yet not like mk1/mk2 escorts etc.

The nova is neither collectable, nor classic, nor special in any way, shape or form.

I dont like it, but in answer to your question, what makes the nova, better or more collectable for £3000?

Would you pay £3000 for it?

If you had the money, would you buy that, even knowing that you get very little car for your money. If you had £3000 floating round, i'd bet my bollock that you would not.

You're hardly the most educated knife in the drawer. Summarize your knowledge on older vehicles then....

In 1997 I bought my first car. it was a B reg 1.2 Nova in mint condition. It cost me £600 - it would have competed with that car for condition hands down, only difference was it had more miles.

Its not collectable though in the scheme of things, I dont see programs about it, books dedicated to it. It would be desirable if you wanted one, but so would a Lada Riva, Renault Laguna, Foird Focus 1.6 - doesnt mean its worth any more though, because its just not collectable.

Yeah I see your point, but just because someone might want it, doesnt mean its collectable. Otherwise that same Nova could be worth £6000, £10,000 or £20,000 and thats just not the case.
