We went 2 years ago with Virgin Atlantic but it was part of a package holiday as we travelled through a various states.
We stayed in the Marriott in the Financial District - the hotel was really nice and the room we had offered free food and drink from the minibar!
Empire State building is a must, also if it's still there, there's a memorial like area for 9/11 which was quite interesting.

Almost forgot to mention Central Park, Statue of Liberty (they've just opened it back up for guests I believe), Times Square (amazing), Rockafeller Center and the Grand Central Station.

I'm not been funny but I don't want her involved in our trans-atlantic sex fest

Bhaha yeah Im going...April ive booked it for.
Continental seem to be the best right now, non stop flight from here is the cheapest ive seen it.
I stayed right at Empire State Building, the hotel name I can not remember..But your not going to be stuck.
I went to a awesome sushi resturant, which was a whole block long buffet.
I also took a train out of Grand Central to Connecticuit..thats an experiance.
And found an amazine wee indian, but again, there is just far to much choice. We just looked up the guide books for resturants.
