i maye reckons his honda civic ek4 b16a2 1.6 dohc vtec is 170bhp standard
then once he's putting low comp pistons in with a garett rollerbearing turbo then remaped should be 350bhp all for the cost of £1500

is this true in what he's saying????? ive told him its bull shit as i dont fink it will at all,

the only reason why u can acheive so much power on a vtec is because the vtec kicks at 5 half thousand and limits to 9 half, 160 bhp standard but if ya take the vtec off it is only 70bhp, the vtec is like a turbo so it is like having 2 turbos no lag power all the way so u can get 350bhp

thats wat he has just told me

its actually far better to remove the vtec when you turbo it, unless you put a massive turbo on as something like a t3 wont last till 9k rpm.

The import B16a2's are 170bhp iirc. UK models are 160bhp. The EK9 is 185bhp. Dunno about the Turbo though.

Vtec is not like a turbo lol It's basically a high lift cam. And oh god it would lag like a mofo if you just whacked a great big turbo on to get it to 350bhp.

they did a 3-door vti-s to, mate had one. 160 bhp standard.

v-tec, as mentioned before is NOT a turbo, it changes cam profile at preset revs to give more power.

good motors, buzz there arses off turbo'd, been in a few with various different power. naughty motors, "lack" of low down torque just makes they get off the line without spinning

A good mate of mine has a B18C4 (Very similar engine but 1800cc) and with a large turbo gets a steady 400bhp.

He did an expensive route, but could easily have done that for £2k.
