Decided i want a double cab pick up. Ideally a Warrior as i like the look of them, spoken to a few car traders and mechanics i know they told me to watch out for certain years and milages 70k plus? Does anyone on hear own one and whats it been like? Reliability? Or anyone own somehting similar, just looking about atm was looking around 6k mark but from what ive been told its put me off might go for one of the newer ones around 10k for a 56/57. Any feedback appreciated

Boss has a new shape Mitsubushi Animal L200 with the leather and air con.
One of the most uncomfortable things I have sat in. Seats are horrible even being leather.
Turning circles are shit too.
Couldn't comment on anything else.
It wasn't particularly quick either and was roaring at 70mph.
Various people at work have used it and said in the wet it's leathal because there is no weight over the rear wheels but loads of weight over the front due to engine and cab.
Unless you need it for work or to use it to its full ability i.e. low ration gear box, I wouldn't bother.

1st freind to have prob. 2004 2.5td bottom end shat itself, engine only had 40k full service history
2nd freind week later conrod through side of block, 2.5td 2006 67k full service history
3rd freind 2006 2.5td clutch and gearbox shot, 86k
useless things, when clutch and gearbox nissan wouldnt warrant it as he had a towbar fitted, head mechanic says there not made for towing

Who says he was towing? Might have had a Thule bike rack on it?!

Go for a hi-lux mate, both the ones mentioned have quite a few probs. Plus the turning circle isn't good at all.
My Boss has a Navara (DieHard) and its always having to go back cos of problems with the management system.

I've heard lots of horror stories with the Nissan. Mainly engine/turbo troubles.
We've had a few L200's now, all the older model and we look after a few at work. Not had any bother with any of them, most of the ones we look after get battered round farms etc aswell and they seem to cope well.
Ours doesn't get too abused but as a work horse its a good vehicle. Seats aren't too comfy and it isn't particularly quick so I wouldn't want to use it everyday/as a car but for work use I can't fault it really.

We have a Navaro at work, and to be honest, its not great! Had several problems with it, not great in the snow and has that stupid sleep mode, so when you put your foot down, the engine cuts out! Great for blue lighting!

Does anyone know what years/models the engines were changed in the L200 2.5s?

No idea. But my bosses is about a 56-plate, possibly newer. And when it starts it takes ages to fire up and sounds like an old Pug 306 non-turbo diesel. Doesn't sound like a modern refined diesel engine at all.
Have you considered a Land Rover Discovery van?

My cousin had the previous warrior and now has the current model. I've borrowed it a few times and it does its job.
Not particularly comfortable and powerful (even in top spec guise). Just a workhorse to cart his fishing gear around.
IMO, looks good, but nothing special overall.

we use our Navara to tow right upto the 2.75T limit (and sometimes over) and its fine, good for what it is. It does need weight over the rear axles but whoever said they're no good for towing - I don't agree with!
Its not particularly comfortable and it really is poverty spec but for what we need it for it does the job

I have an 05 navara twin cab
il start with the good points
good in this weather with switchable 4wd, havent got stuck and pulled a fair few people out of trouble
good for throwing stuf in the back
can tow trailer with out any problems
AC/electrics/cd
Bad points
prone to bottom end blowing
uncomf seats, especially on a long journey
handles like a boat
very bouncy and agricultural
turning circle of titanic
poor mpg
has no boot per say, i have a roll cab but the back still fills with water/leaks so anything to stay dry/secure needs throwing ion the back seat
not much space in back for passengers
If we get another i will be test driving a fair few first, mine is ok as a work horse but always take the vetcra if going anywhere

Just going from word of mouth and personal experience, I'd take the L200 based on a lot less horror stories.
