Who was it who had one?

Just after some info on what they are like to live with as you can get some for around 10k and insurance is cheaper than some smaller engined cars toying with the idea of getting a silly car later in the year as mines just too dull to drive but i do like the power of it atm/mpg so going to a 3.5 v6 will be a massive change in my driving style i imagine (that is if i actually went insane and went for one ).

Tax is onlt £245 for year which yes is more than double what i currently pay but not as bad as i was actually expecting.

so yeah anyway just after some info on them or peoples thoughts on them.

oh and are repair costs likely to be anywhere near the gtr repair costs should anything go wrong.

I'm not a fan tbh.

I don't think they are great looking, not 'amazing' performance but all the downsides of being a v6 (ie. fuel consumption).

Inside my workmates one is ok, little bit plasticy but not bad.

Honest opinion here as the missus has one.
It's a great car, quick in a straight line, average around the bends but for a comfortable point to point car you can't go wrong.

Mpg is awful, on a run you're lucky to average 30, mainly because it sounds so damn good.

Build quality is shocking too, mechanically it's bulletproof but the interior is not good, the ashtray, centre storage hole cover and cupholder in hers are all shite and considering they're pretty much the only 3 moving parts inside the car you'd expect them to be better.

When we were looking, we couldn't think of a better car for the money and it's the same story now tbh

Buy one if not just for the noise

I know of a blue one for sale btw

Martin_C had one too if you want more info

It's not that slow TBH, 5.6 seconds 0-60

Driving hers I was amazed at how little you need to change gear, even in 6th on the motorway at 60-70mph it's got power to pull away quite well without dropping down a gear.

cheers for that robin

tbh anything is going to be better than mine in the bends, I do love the noise of them as i see one occasionally on the way gome from work and if its anything like the r32 golf then ill just wet myself everytime i drive it.

Fro: you rekindeled (sp) it was looking at them a while ago but the mpg/tax costs put me off until i got an insurance quote and it was cheaper than a vxr

My mates onto his 2nd one, he likes them that much! Had a 04 Azure Blue one & the paintwork was terrible on it, now got an 09 plate grey GT with about 10k miles & its mint.

Sounds amazing..............much nicer engine note than my M3. Interiors let them down a bit.

I quite like them though.

I think they are one of those cars that doesnt feel as quick as it it, power delivery is super smooth with loads of pull low down so you look down at the speedo expecting one thing and see something completely different.
