I get about 340 miles from £30 of petrol so about 110 miles from a tenner and i dont rag it all the time or anything but I certainly dont drive to conserve petrol and mines a 1.4 16v!

mines standard, got no kit on it... thought spoilers increase speed aerodynamic???? or should i rephrase not increase speed but let it cut through air easier...

Mines not as bad, but i know what you mean. I usually gat about 30-35 mpg if im lucky. Makes no difference whether im using 95, 97 or 98 RON fuel either . Its most likely due to using the car on short runs, and just the way you drive it. I usually get about 250 miles out of a tank, but before ive got over 300 because i started doing a few 30 mile round trips.
I think the fuel consuption is actually made worse because of the lack of power the engine has

Out of a tenner I get about 80-100 miles depending how I drive on my 1.2 8V with induction kit.

Very very rite mate!!! i mean, my 1.2 8v has got to a point where i have to floor it in every gear just to keep up with average trafic flow. Its worse on the motorway, especially on hills, coz i have to shift down to 4th just to keep up with traffic.........its so crap and actually irritates me.
It just seems like i'm labouring the engine all the time when i try to conserve petrol (low revs).....but my vacuum guage actually shows i'm using more fuel doin this.
Cant wait for the 1.4 16v to be dropped in. shud help
