Looking after the opinion of someone who has owned both, preferably one after the other.
I'm after a new car, and really didn't want another Corsa. But I can't afford much else with the criteria I've set, so I have a few questions.
Am I right in thinking the Corsa C uses the Corsa B chassis, which is basically a Nova?
If so, do Corsa C's handle any better than Corsa B's in standard guise?
Is the interior more refined and is it better on longer journeys than Corsa B's?
Basically, I'm looking to jump from a Corsa B 12v GLS to Corsa C 1.4 SRi. Should I not be as so hasty to change as it isn't much of a change?!
Any opinions or comments welcome

i have driven my mums corsa c sxi a few times
im not keen on the steering very very light
does seem better built but my corsa b is lowered so will have a harsher ride meaning things are more likely to squeek
i prefer the corsa b

corsa c isnt the same chasis as a corsa b. corsa b isnt the same chasis as a nova, similar but its not the same.

B to C is a massive change, totally different car, C is much newer and much better.

Imo the corsa c handles alot better than a corsa b, but the corsa b looks better.

You will notice the difference going from B to C definately. I don't know where you got the same chassis thing from though? Drive one and find out.

The C is a far far far more advanced car.
PS. dont kid yourself, you'll be getting the 1.3CDTi

when sat in my brothers corsa c the quality inside doesn't feel any better than the b but it does handle better.
engine still sounds like a bag of nails though (1.2 16v)

to be fair ive never driven a corsa c.. but they are the same chassis as my mrs 1.8 16v tigra and that handles well better than a corsa b.

the interior i think the b is better. 4 mates have got C's and they have loads of rattles and squeaks, far more than my b.
don't like the plastics in the C either.

Pffff, no I won't, I don't think. . .unless I can pick one up for £35 tax. In my budget £4k, you're looking at 04 plates on £120 tax. Plus they'll have more miles on and cost a bit more than the 1.4 16v equivalent. I only do 15k miles per year, so derv isn't that beneficial.
I was under the impression they were the same car, just in different frocks - and it was with the D the chassis properly changed. I stand corrected.
I still bloody want a Grande Punto though

But I'm an inpatient little git. Could get a Corsa C SRi and get out of irritating 12v ownership within a month.
It would take me another 8 months to save up for a Punto

C feels nicer to drive, more appealing on the eye on the inside, driving position is better seats are comfier, handles better. feels more solid/robust.

I don't know how anybody that has seen a B and C in the flesh can say the B interior is anywhere close to the C's

It looks totally different and it's put together quite a bit better as well, the only similarity is that both are corsa interiors.

Save for the punto mate, went from owning a 1.2 8v B up to a 1.4 C and tbh its nothing worth writing home about. The interior in the C isn't much better put together, the whole things held together by plastic clips so it rattles alot more. There also more of a ball ache to work on 'cus of the layout of the engine bay.

And all the functional things are in the same place, i.e. hazards, heater vents, light switches but I can see what you mean, I've been in a Corsa C briefly and I didn't think it was better.

tbh, I wouldn't be working on it and nothing rattles, apart from something French, more than by car
