Just watched Heroes, where one of the characters is deaf yet fairly attractive, and i thought i'd ask CS.

i use to know a lad whos mum was partly deaf and knew sign language, i know most of the sign alphabet

No not really.
I wouldn't pronounce aye as "I" .
The question mark after should hint at it too.
