Been offered one at what i think is a good price,
Just wondered what people's views are on them, previous experiences etc...
Its a Y reg GTi with 84k on the clock, in gunmetal grey.
And its just the normal GTi not the 180.
Cheers

i had 1 loved it also, not slow by any means, quick revving great fun. only propem i had with mine was the back axle fucked up, expensive fix but my own fault as it was so low. mine had 105k on and i sold it for 2400 on an x plate just over a year ago

I've got one in my collection at the mo. Also had a 180 too.
They are great fun, handle good, quick enough.
Driving position could be better but alround they are good value. Mine is a '99 T and i've replaced the rear stub axles and bearings for £250 so it isn't a major worry.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

My dad has a 180, I dont like it, seems very slow for 180bhp, driving position is a bit high.
