Right was thinking, my gf's focus got serviced when it was a year old at 13k n its now due its due its next service at 25.5k, thing is she doesnt drive that much, there's no way in hell she has done 17k in one year of owning it, could the mileage have jumped? (I know it sounds really daft but...)
(no pictures of said gf will be presented)

She's cheating on you with somebody in Brighton, hence the mileage.
Sorry to hit the news to you mate.
On a serious note, i've never heard of cars doing that?

might be worth trying to calculate the miles mate i.e where she drives to and how often, see if you can get a rough idea. I drive to work and back in my car which is approx 20miles, i do this 4 times a week approx (depening on hours) which works out as 6000 there abouts

Never heard of that
What is the mileage of the car (is it actually at 25500 ? ) As it might be the car needs a service and not the interval ? I know mine comes up with service required on the screen if the dpf/oil filter etc is clogged ?

Yeah i have heard of it, one of my mums friends at work had a pug summat or other, that kept jumping miles pretty much every time i was started, took it back to pug and they fixed it... came back a few weeks later so ended up giving them the car back, so it is possible just very very rare i imagine.

My mates birds KA used to overread. We only found out when we went on a 300 mile journey and he told me it was 400 miles. He then checked it up, found I was right and took the car back at 15000 miles saying he don't want it as the car has incorrect mileage. They offered to fix it, but he said he wanted a new one. Went court and everything.

I was thinking this, mine seems to jump up after long journeys? Is this normal?

i heard of a friends Peugeot (i think it was anyway) counting up alot faster than it should have. her 17mile commute to work put 100miles on the clocks! they eventually fixed it but didnt put in a fiddle factor so had done 12k miles and was showing alot more!

has it had smaller wheels/tyres fitted at some point?
surely decreasing the rolling radius would have this effect?

Probably if she went from 20" to 13"
This might sound odd but has she been playing with the trip display and changed it to Km/h?
