Got testical cancer 
Had one testical removed.... to make matters worse found out he may have diabetes too.
Cost me £400 for operation and medicine.
I was wondering if i take out pet insurance now can i claim when he's diagnosed properly for diabetes and just pretend its new or will they call the vet and check?

Its unlikely you'll get away with it on the insurance mate, they check everything.
We've claimed almost 5k on ours in the last 3 months!!

I would imagine they'll exclude anything pre-existing to you taking the cover out. If you have more work done at a later date then claim for it, they'll look into the history and find it was an existing condition, therefore not covered.

its doubtfull they will cover you now for the illness matey as you know about it, thats why i allways insure my pets in first week of ownership.
my dalmation was hit by a train nearly killed he cost around 7k in vets bills luckily he was insured. looking back though i would have found a way of paying the bills best dog i have ever owned

know how u feel, £750 last friday for the cat to stay one night stay  then £450 yesterday, £60 today and he has an xray tomorrow

Ours got cancer a good 6 years ago, was covered then so initial op was done via it. They then refused to cover her (as did all the others) so when it came back and she needed about 4 or 5 ops we had to pay for it all out of our own pocket, was a fortune.
Still though, over 6 years since she originally had it, and about 5 after it came back, she has been fine and other than some dodgey back legs is still cracking on at 14 1/2yrs, which for a big dog (Old English) is really old.

I love my dog to bits but sack paying thousands on vet bills, id just buy a new one lol
ours is 13 now and still like brand new

you have to weigh up the situation. money is only money but a dog is only a dog, i'd pay alot to see my dog right, but then on the other hand what will their quality of life be like, hence why i had my golden lab put down late last year due to his spine starting to fail, instead of operating, age also is a big factor

I would always have a dog neutered anyway. No worries over testical cancer or getting someone elses dog pregnant plus it calms them down too.

Yeah i wish we had him done now but its something ive never really thought about doing.
Its nice to have him back home tho... he hasnt done anything but sleep but he seems better this morning.

Knee replacement op and physio/recuperation.
I've paid a lot of money to insurance over the years and never claimed and they've decided to double my premium so I'm just getting my moneys worth for this one.

I have to insure my Tamarins and Marmosets, it'd be lethal if I didn't, although they are nearly 2 years old now with no problems so I hope they continue in good health but even something as little as a fall could cause a big problem, the good thing is I got my 3 rabbits insured for free as I took the insurance on the monkeys.

my sister dog has just had an op last week on her back leg and it came to £2250 and in 6 weeks when this leg has heeled she has to go back and have the other back leg done, luckily my sister has et insurance, i think it is essential tbh. totally come out the blue with my sisters dog
