hay everyone, basicaly i've made some egr and sai blanking plates for the x14 & x16 engines, now my problm lies i what size bolt to use for the sai blanking plate as the egr is easy as you just use the origenal bolts.

And for future plates i don't know wether its better to make them out of steal or 2mm copper sheet.

Steel would be best?

IIRC i used 13mm bolt i found, shouldnt be too hard to find as i belive its same thread as the standard exhaust bolts.

How much for one of the SAI blanks? U2U me.

It blows cold air into the exhaust, Ment to help the cat burn the fuel left in the exhaust.

it is there for the american emision law iirc, it pumps air into the manifold to super heat the gasses so it will pass an emissions test as soon as you sart the car, they only run for a few minuits then shut off, they weigh a fair bit and are usless tbh

ok peeps well they are made now and i've trial fitted one of the SAI plates to my 14xe and everything is hunky dory.

now im going to contact autovaux tomorrow to see what the price of a SAI gasket is and a EGR gasket as then i can sell them as a kit

as for the EGR i have 2 styles of blanking plate one thats moddled on the bottom of the EGR body itself and one thats modled on the EGR gasket.. now which one are people to more likely have as they are a shit to cut out and obviously leave a fair bit of scrap metal so would like to do only one style as it would help keep costs down.

also what do people recon i should sell the kits for?

taking into account its got to cover material and gasket.

How much is the metal/material and how many can you make out of one sheet?

How much are the gaskets?

And how long does it take you to cut it all out?

takes about 45 minutes to cut out properly, then about 15 minuts to sand the edges smooth and make sure they are flat. Then a few minuts to drill and make sure the holes are smooth.

Gaskets dont know till tomorrow.

Metal is anything from £15 to £30 depending on where you can get it.
Out of a meter square i say i could make 30 egr plates and maybe 30 sai plates.

im still not sure what egr plate to do lol... Might as well do the base plate and that be that..

Price wise i need to get the price of the egr and sai gaskets. As i know where i can get some ss bolts and large washers, or might get some slightly bigger washers than they bolt. And postage cost as post office are badgers atm so going to find out tomorrow. Then i can set a base price for indervidul kits and a combined kit.
