...And it took about two hours
Didn't think it was going to be a bumper off job I said to my dad that the bumper needs to come off so you can take a screw out and he went off on one about how you definitely don't need to take the bumper off because "it should be a roadside job".
Anyway, pics
All that for this screw
Glad I won't have to do that again for a while!

You can easily get to the bulbs without taking the bumper off Dave passenger sides a bit of a struggle, drivers side just take air box off. Really simple, ive changed mine loads, and only took bumper off to do the HID's.

I was just thinking the same, I did HIDs in the Ibiza which had a 1.9TDi engine in a small engine hole! Took some patience but I did it

if you ask on corsa-c how to do it then youre told you 100% have to take the bumper off. much easier to just take the arch liners out

MK4 Astras are the twist and pull ones, Corsa's arent, they have the two metal spring clip things on each side of the bulb.

to make it easyer as there are fixings under neath the bumper it would be harder to do while the wheels are on the floor

Doesnt need it, mines down 60mm with an Irmy front splitter, still can get to all the bolts.

Hey, I just did what the Haynes said
It only took so long because I couldn't get the gay pin things out under the front of the bumper and one of the screws on the arches wasn't co-operating and just kept spinning.
Ellis - see here http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=538051 and here http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=541009
Nobleone - the driver's side one had gone so I bought a pair of fancy Philips ones so replaced both at the same time while I was at it.
Unfortunately spending so long doing the bulbs meant I didn't have time to take half the door apart to change the speakers
